Hide and Don’t Seek My Chocolate Chip Cookies
As the Chief of Food Acquisitions at our house (fancy name for grocery shopper), I have the opportunity to purchase items that I might like to have (and maybe not share). The other benefit of this position is that I usually take the role of Shelf Stocker so that I can place said items in a location that might not be so visible to others. <<wink wink.>>
So after the little one goes to bed, I can take out a treat (chocolate chip cookie) and enjoy. :) I’ve tried this before and unfortunately, my hiding places weren’t as good as I thought they’d be because my hubby found them and soon my treats were disappearing.
List of not-so-good hiding places:
- The bread machine ( I thought this was excellent, but it was discovered in less than 24 hours)
- The oven
- The lonely, hard to get to, cupboard above the refrigerator
- The oven mitt (I thought this was a good one too, but since it wasn’t flat…that gave it away)
My current GOOD hiding place: (sshhhh don’t tell)
On the top shelf in the pantry behind the Domino box of brown sugar, I have an old pasta box with some ziploc bags with chocolate chip cookies inside. lol.
Normally, I’d place the Domino box sideways to conserve space, but in this case… it’s doing a good job concealing the box behind it. :) You gotta do what you gotta do. I really don’t mind sharing, but sometimes I just really want a chocolate chip cookie and want to know that it will be there when I want it. Is that too much to ask for? :)
