Mr. Spelling Bee!
It's time for Mr. Spelling Bee. Print out the sheet
of beehive and animals. Then cut out the bee
from the top corner and tape it to the back of
your (adult) pointer finger. Then have your
toddler look at the pictures of animals and
point to one. Tell him that now Mr. Spelling Bee
has to come out and spell it for him. Move your
pointer finger from the hive and buzz around to
the picture and under say the word, spell it
out, then say the word again. For example, "Cat.
C- A- T. Cat." ( In the special spelling
bee format!) Get your toddler used to
recognizing hearing letters that make up a word!
Supplies Needed-
- printer to
print the spelling bee sheet
- scissors
- tape
Tips/Suggestions-
- You can use your own pictures with letters on top.
- You can cut out the pictures with words and tape them
to a wall, then have your toddler point to one and have
the bee fly across the room to spell it out for him/her!
- Show your enthusiasm just like those National Spelling
Bee contestants!
